September 24, 2018

Press release

Rostec’s Shvabe Holding has presented a water treatment system to scientists and representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Kuwait. The company’s developments aroused interest of partners from Kuwait. The Corporation also considers the Middle East to be a promising market for civilian products.

Specialists of Shvabe’s POLYUS Research Institute of M.F. Stelmakh have paid a working visit to Kuwait. They met with the employees of the Technical Services Department of the Ministry of Defense of Kuwait and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research to present the new water treatment system.

“Over the past few years, Shvabe Holding has cooperated with the State of Kuwait in the sphere of medical equipment supply. We also expect to start exporting our water treatment systems. The new development of Shvabe’s POLYUS Research Institute of M.F. Stelmakh which has already proven effective is a sought-after one among foreign customers and buyers from Russia. At an International Industrial Fair INNOPROM held in the summer of 2018, about 50 advance orders for it were placed. Thus, we are confident that is has potential,” said Deputy CEO of Shvabe Ivan Ozhgikhin.

Shvabe’s water treatment system has been produced by an enterprise of POLYUS Research Institute of M.F. Stelmakh since the beginning of 2018. There are 13 versions of devices with the capacity of 2 to 250 cubic meters per day. One unit can provide water for 400 to 2,000 people. It purifies water from springs and water wells to provide it for various facilities including private houses.

“The Middle East market is important for Rostec. Our potential for cooperation is not limited to supplying units for decontamination and treatment of potable water, wastewater and water used in circulating water systems. We see growth potential for implementing new joint projects, including “smart” civilian products and medical equipment,” said Director for International Cooperation and Regional Policy Department at Rostec Victor Kladov.

Currently, Rostec offers solutions to its regional partners, related to machine building, the power industry, construction of infrastructure facilities on a turnkey basis and creation of comprehensive automated security systems and information systems based on Russian technologies, such as the Electronic Government, Secure (Smart) City, and security systems for individual regions.

The Corporation also considers the Middle East to be a promising market for medical equipment and pharmaceuticals. Areas of cooperation could include the supply of high-tech civilian products manufactured by Shvabe Holding.
